Technology to aid reinvent sustainability: Dr CN Ashwath Narayan

Global event UNLEASH-22 kicks off at the Palace City

Mysuru: The state government has imparted top most priority to promote sustainable development, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for IT/BT, said on Saturday.
 In his welcome address at the opening ceremony of a week long global event UNLEASH 22 (innovation lab to realise United Nations sustainable development goals), he said that sustainable development was the  greatest challenge that the entire world was facing today.
 In all the possible sectors including healthcare, renewable energy, clean water etc, the government intention was to achieve sustainability, he explained.
 In the programmes conducted by the government, sustainability was gaining attention. Even in the recently concluded Bengaluru  Tech Summit issues related to sustainable development were deliberated widely. Even, in the government programmes such as Grand Challenges event, the topics with regard to sustainability  were drawing attention, Narayan remarked.

 Originally, the Indian way of life and culture stands for simplicity and sustainability. However, the influence of colonisation has had illeffects on our way of life and  resulted in harming sustainability. Now, by effectively making use of technology we need to reinvent sustainability, he opened.
 Prof. Flemming, Chairman, UNLEASH, Sumith Virmani, Executive Vice President and Global, Chief Marketing Officer, Infosys, Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, Dr.EV Ramana Reddy, ACS,  Electronics, IT, BT and S&T. Meena Nagaraj, Director, IT/BT were present.
